Poser has been less than stellar since it was purchased by Smith Micro. If they cannot fix their own program I cannot see upgrading to a more expensive problem. I have asked for a direct link to the actual program files or an ISO. All that wants to do is keep installing the same download manager and never downloads the actual program. Problem is it is a "download manager" and not the actual program. Smith Micro sent me a link to download the newer version. Just make sure a refund is possible then consider Blender and MakeHuman which are totally free, more powerful.but much harder to learn. But I suspect that these are common problems that Smith Micro has never really resolved in any of their releases. If you can install and it works.be thankful. Since update to Win 10 this will not even load. Not sure an upgrade will fix the problem because several forums indicate that even the top of the line version has problems with the library not loading.Ī wiser publisher would not tie themselves to the whims of Adobe to make their product function. While waiting on a reply from Smith Micro I have tried all of their published "solutions" to this problem but none of them work. In this case the Libraries that include all the figures ( kinda necessary, right? ) simply don't work. Not sure what the problem is but having had poser in the past ( as a reseller ) I can say that install problems have not been uncommon for Poser products. It's slightly more expensive than a wooden manikin, but much more useful and flexible than one. Coleman, for several years com- poser-in-residence at the Auckland. In this post we’ve collected 40 of the best Poser tutorials for you, from beginner to advanced. Best of all, it’s compatible with 3DS-Max and Maya, so you can easily import realistic looking 3D renders from Poser straight into your 3D software. I wouldn't buy the more expensive versions, though. The result is a melodic, lyrical album with a sound far more accessible to. Poser is a user-friendly program, which you can master easily if you invest some time in researching some tutorials. Now let me draw in peace.Īs a program for posing 3D figures into static poses, it's fine. I don't like the constant upsell or the push to buy aftermarket models. Adding old Poser models from a version I had from 7-8 years ago went okay, once I figured out where to put them. 5 stars for that.Īs 3D models, they all look about 4-5 years out of date. They have normal 8-head models, a couple of 6-head models, and some weird shaped models for variety. The models are all good enough as manikins. (Which is what I want as someone who's just using this as a digital wooden manikin.) I have other programs that do similar stuff, with much more complicated control schemes, so 5 stars on the controls. The controls are simple and easy to figure out. I don't have any interest in using this for 3D animation, or in their aftermarket figures/models/etc. I've been trying to find a way to have a manikin handy for drawing, and I figured I would try Poser again. It took a while to download, but it installed okay. So, anyone who uses Debut, or like me happens to have it but doesn't yet have Poser 10, can at least access all the newer figures and some of the features too.The download version worked just fine. That's somewhat of a bonus considering that the newest full version I have is Poser 9, and I'd got Debut for free long before then as part of a giveaway. Since they still support Debut, but apparently didn't want to fix the compatibility issues with Poser 8, they quietly kicked Debut up to Poser 10. This too asked for my serial and gave me the full install for Debut 10, which is based on Poser 10. Nonetheless it took my old serial number and gave me a download manager to retrieve the update. However, the page the link sent me to said it was for Debut version 10. I no longer use it, but decided to get the update anyway because the version I had was based on Poser 8 and would be completely useless without the update if I needed it later. Noticed on the Poser updates page that there was an update for Poser Debut.
